Avast and Ahoy!!!

What do you think it would be like if we used the words "Avast" and "Ahoy" in our everyday vocabulary? I'm guessing it would be like if people just broke into song like in a musical. Some people would laugh and join in, as I would, others would look at you like you were absolutely crazy. Either way, it could make someone's day unforgettable. "Ahoy, welcome to McDonald's. Can I take your order?" How about if you were in the car with your spouse driving and they were about to miss a turn..."Avast! Turn right here!" Changing your vocabulary to include words doesn't have to be boring. Try it...it'll brighten your day. Savvy?

  1. I am now imagining a Satnav system with pirate overtones.

"Avast ye pustulant swabber, starboard at the lights."

  5. Avast is not in common usage? Arragh! Shiver me timbers! I'll be needing a whole new dictionary. Carrying Dr Johnson's around will surely do me back a mischief ;) Happy A to Z.
